I bought it for a few reasons 1 it has a loaded base 2 on my daily driver I'm to lazy to remove my anteanna before going through carwash causing my old non spring loaded, non loaded base 1/4 wave to bend over, after a couple dozen washes it's bent down touching the roof of my truck cab causing my radio to freak out. Not this one, it bends over & pops right back (although noisey as hell being mounted in my sheet metal roof) Besides I've been buying quality radio's & components from these guys for over 35 years! Plus there at every race in Mexico where everything can go wrong. It's nice to have communication equipment people that KNOW WHAT THERE DOING! while down there.
