Immaculate quality

I tried hanging my vintage 6 pounder on a hardware store handle, but it just didn’t cut it. If I’m gonna take the time and effort to restore a quality tool, I want everything to be the best it can be, and that’s exactly this Whiskey River handle is. The best possible quality. Straight grain, kerf cut right down the middle, immaculate fit and finish overall, and no lacquer to strip off. I thinned out the handle a bit, burned it, oiled it with raw linseed, and couldn’t be happier with the result. From now on anytime I need a handle it’s Whiskey River or bust. If they ever make a sledge/maul handle with a palm swell, I’m all over it.
