When I was actively visiting the Hawaiian Islands in the 1970s -1990s, I always visited this great food location. It is about halfway between Hilo and Kona along the coastal highway, so it is a convenient stopping point if you are driving between the two. I had not been there for more than two decades. On a recent cruise (Feb. 2025), we stopped there for lunch and doughnuts (malasadas). It was busy at 11:30 AM when we arrived and equally busy when we left ninety minutes later. The food was worth the wait. We bought extra malasadas for our room stewards on the cruise. Big hit with them as well. After arriving home, I received an email from the store. I ordered 18 macadamia shortbread cookies. My concern was would they arrive in pieces, only crumbs. They were shipped via US Post Office Priority Mail and arrived in perfect condition. Plus, they are delicious. Well worth the price. I will order again.
