Doesn't just disintegrate when working with metal

I have been using hardware store belts for the past few years. But they burned up so quickly when metal working I rarely used my belt sander. I bought these belts in hope that they would last and they do. I can properly shape metal with the 36 grit belt and it still has plenty of life after using it to make multiple brakets. Would Recommend these belts!
