Pretty good safe

While regulat 8×10 sheets lay flat, larger "legal sized" documents do not. The handle is a little hard to grab, but turns very easily and the safe opens very smoothly. It is exceptionally smelly when you open it. I suppose that smell will fade. The instructions for bolting it to the floor could have been more clear. 1. Exactly how deep to drill the hole. 2. Where to find a hollow punch for sale. A note that you need a deep socket and exactly what size... Overall I'm very pleased with my new safe. My complaints are minor. I'd say this was an excellent value and will last many, many years.

Excellent experience and Product.

Safe arrived with no damage. Well built and not too heavy for me to move into my house. I used a dolly and did it myself. Got the safe on the dolly and rolled it off the pallet. The box doesn't have a bottom so once on the dolly you can cut away the box and roll it into place. If I had deeper pockets, I would have gotten one of the burglar & fire safes but this was in my price range and the only safes I could find with a 2 hour burn rating. The electronic lock is responsive and very easy to use. It's not made of metal but does it's job which is opening the safe. The dial lock might have a more robust feel but decided on the digital for quick access. After practicing a few times I can get in the safe in a few seconds. Last thing. This size is great. It fits standard office document binders which was one of my requirements. Con: Digital lock makes a chirp when a button is pressed and then a chime after it has been opened. I don't care for an audio announcement the safe is open.
