Mercury 34C
What a great razor. Easy to maneuver. Well designed and crafted so that I look forward to using it each morning. Takes Perma Sharp and Personna Lab Blue blades like they were made for each other. This is a must-have razor in anyone’s collection.

I woulda coulda shoulda
Coming back to safety razors after a few decades (okay, six decades) away from them, I wanted to find the best razor option. I have average size hands, so I shied away from the Merkur 23C because it emphasizes its "big man, big hands" suitability. Instead, I opted for the Merkur 34C. I love it... The knurling on the handle provides perfect grip and control The weight does most of the work Easy to use and maintain Looks awesome, brings back fond memories as well But ... My fingers are cramping by the end of the shave as I deal with the short handle It is a great razor for those looking for average aggressiveness. But four shaves in, I am trying to figure out how in the world I can justify the expense of another razor so I can grab the 23C. Anyone with brilliant ideas please chime in! :)

What to say? It’s all been said.
Merkur 34C. It’s a classic. Has been for decades. Requires no design upgrade. Easy to load with a blade and use. Forgiving if used with a modicum of wet shaving knowledge (angle, no pressure, etc.) . Ideal for beginners. Tames aggressive blades, e.g. Feather HD. Perfect for travel. Your heart wouldn’t sink if you left it on the hotel sink when you departed. I thought I’d graduated past it after a decade into wet shaving. Found I wanted it again. Gave away my first one to someone starting out.
