Good Shaving Soap

I have been using Ogallala shaving soaps for a long time and I am very happy with them. I enjoy the scent of the Bay Rum & Vanilla first thing in the morning it helps get me going.

Absolutely excellent

I have used 4 of the Ogallala Shaving soaps, with the Bay Rum and Vanilla being one of them. The scents of all of the 4 I have tried are delightful with this one and the Sweet Orange being my 2 favorites. The other 2 are Sage and Cedar and Limes and Peppercorns. The lather is very thick but one thing I love about them all is their slickness. Of all the soaps I have tried (including some made with lanolin and others with duck fat) the Ogallala's are better then most and inferior to none, and yet they are only $8 per puck which is also larger then most of their competition. 5 stars because the system doesn't allow for 7 or 8

Good, but....

I found this soap to be quite the value. A good size cake in recyclable packaging. It has a very pleasant scent that my wife describes as "Christmas". It lathers well and is fairly slick while shaving. My quibbles are that the cake is rock hard. I put it in an old soap container and filled it with water to soften it up ( I leave it in the container with the lid on). Also, my skin is somewhat sensitive and if I leave this on too long it gives a burning sensation. I wouldn't discourage someone from trying it, but be forewarned. The old adage applies in my case, you get what you pay for....
