Semogue 830 Pure Bristle Shaving Brush

I got it soaked it, & then worked it for a 10 - 15 mins on the back of my hand it loosens up well enough and there was great exfoliating potential when I put it to my face, we’ll see next week.

Excellent Brush

I get the impression this brush may have a bit of a cult following and if so I'm a follower. The handle feels great and after about two weeks the boar hairs bloom and become softer. It has good face feel and dries quickly. I have several Semogue brushes including an Owner's Club. All the brushes are good but there is something special about this one that makes it stand out a bit. This is my second one as I had a bad habit of soaking the first one in boiling hot water before each shave. After about a year of abuse I noticed a bit of separation in the acrylic handle so I bought it again. This one turned out to be just as good as the first one.

A reliable, good-quality everyday brush

The Semogue 830 is a stiffer brush---boar bristle---and if you like that, which I do, it's a perfect product. When new, it's quite stiff, but it softens up over time to acquire a perfect texture. This is my second purchase of this unit, and if you want a more robust brush at a fraction of the price of the expensive badger models, this product should make you happy.
