Hello. This is a review of green hojari frankincense from Oman. This is my 2nd purchase from the perfumist. My first purchase I've already written about. It was some magical Malaysian triple distilled oud oil. I don't know how I first came upon this vendor. I think I saw the oil in my Instagram feed. I don't know why, because I had never purchased or shown any interest in perfumery. Anyway, I found the description of the oil intriguing and ordered some. It was my first purchase of oud oil ever. What I smelled was beyond my wildest dreams! I right away ordered more as a gift for a very old and good friend, who had once waxed poetic about some patchouli, because I thought he might appreciate it. To reiterate, this was my very first experience trying oud oil. The experience was transcendent and spiritual and profound. All of this transpired quite recently, within the last few months. Since that time, I have ordered from other vendors, so I now have some perspective. I can honestly say that the triple distilled Malaysian from the perfumist remains my most special and prized oud oil. The things written in the description about projection and longevity are accurate. I have now purchased some Hindi oils as well as oil from Papua New Guinea. Either these oils have some of what I regard as vices, too funky or smoky, which make them unacceptable for gifting, or they have little longevity and projection, which make the experience of them something like coitus interruptus, frustrating. I now have also visited some of the online forums, where I came across remarks quite disparaging of this vendor. Maybe these people genuinely had a bad experience. I don't want to speculate that these people had bad motives, such as wanting to dissuade others so that they could have this vendor all to themselves or wanting to retain healthier profit margins. (As to this last point, I can say that my own experience thus far of the quality of the product from this vendor compared to the price charged is 2nd to none. The value is not to be believed.) In any event, with respect to the frankincense under review, when it hit the burner, I was amazed at how quickly it liquefied. The scent is beautiful. That being said I have little experience with frankincense. I have purchased only frankincense from one other vendor; it didn't liquefy as quickly. Part of me thinks I probably should not have let the cat out of the bag about this vendor, the impossibly great value that you get for something more precious than gold. However, the material has spiritual properties and I would be unfaithful to the material if I did not say what has been my truth. Let the chips fall where they may.
