I'm really glad that we now get this converter in silver trim. Previously we could only get this in gold. I've been using Platinum pens for a good part of my life and my mom has and still uses them. A lot of older Japanese and Taiwanese pens use the Platinum converter as well, not just Platinum pens, and I have at least three pens that are not Platinum that have these installed. These do work reliably. It is possible to use them in vintage pocket pens, but there are some important modifications that are needed to be made to the converter (not the pen) because otherwise they are too long to fit. I need to put up some pictures showing what needs to be done to make them fit at some point.

Platinum ink Coverter for Preppy Pen

This converter fit the pen perfectly and made it easy to use bottle ink. Too bad it cost twice as much as the Preppy pen I bought. Another option would have been to use the cartridge that came with the pen and refill it using a syringe in the future, but the converter is very nice.
