Have always been a fan of S. Preston’s work, and this year’s MLB All Star game sketch is the perfect addition to any baseball fan’s collection. The simplicity of the design represents Cleveland and its rock and roll beginnings, as well as compliments the spirit of baseball.

I visit S. Preston at the ASG FanFest every summer. The MLB ASG festivities are not complete without adding the S. Preston interpretation of the Middle Summer Classic to my collection each year. Especially because he is gracious enough to add a customized remarke - but you have to ask extra nice.

The Tribe and The All Star Game

Upon a view of this piece, like most others from this artist they make the person viewing it, think. At first you say it is not a sports piece. It has colors and logos, but it makes the person look and think. The All Star Game piece without being able to use Chief Wahoo, makes for a more difficult draw with just a plain block "C" and a simple script nickname. This piece reaches into the flavor of the city of Cleveland, utilizing the rock n roll flair and a subtle event that happened in a game, and pulled together a true masterpiece of thought for a special event that can hung in just about any house as art and not a logo or a sports piece. This piece along with most other that are created by this fine art sports artist creates pieces that will stand the test of time and will make the viewer gaze longer to see the meaning than just being a ball or a puck.
