Cordova Men's Cargo Messenger Shorts

Needs modification to work

The good: Great color and style if you enjoy jeans but weather too hot. Comfortable 100% thin cotton is great in hot weather. Roomy design. Belt is a nice touch, easy to adjust waist size when eating a big meal. The bad: Velcro pocket flaps are very annoying and hard to operate one-handed. To make these shorts work for me, I had to modify them. Using a seam ripper, I removed one velcro patch from each pocket. Front pockets I removed the velcro closest to the crotch. Back pockets I took out the velcro furthest away from the crotch. Pockets easier access now. Belt rectangle metal loops can turn suddenly when belt is tightened. Had to add hand stitches using carpet thread to make the belt work. These shorts are thus more expensive than I expected because of the modifications I had to make. Around half-hour of work each pair.

Great shorts with a few flaws.

I own 4 pairs of these shorts. I like the fabric, fit, durability and comfort of these shorts. There are a few flaws that I wish they would change. The zipper is lousy and cheap. The zipper does not zip up as easily as othe shorts or pants I own. The velcro on the pockets would be better with snaps or buttons. It is ridiculous trying to open the pockets with one hand.
