Excellent for heavy binoculars or cameras

The GA230 tripod with the 03F head is an ideal combination for my heavy binoculars (9lb 25x100 Binos), so will be great with any cameras too. The geared center column lifts or lowers the Binos precisely to your eye level without your having to stoop, or constantly change the height of the tripod legs. No more sore neck! If sharing the Binos or camera with a person of a different height, changing the level is now a breeze. The gearing in the column is well made and lifts the load smoothly and without the need for a lot of pressure on the winder. The winder has a bit more free play than I expected, but it does not affect the operation. Even fully extended, the center column locks and becomes rigid. The fluid head is the smoothest I have ever used, so looking around the sky and land is a pleasure. Once the locks are set, the tripod is the most rigid and stable one I have ever used. I had reservations at the price tag, but no longer, I wish I had bought this earlier.
