Good Idea, But....

Interesting project and a good idea - but the gaps on the ends are just too big. I beat and clamped and beat some more and there is just no physical way to get them to have an acceptable gap without major deformity of the piece. I finally ended up using TIG rod along with my MIG gun to fill up the gaps - which resulting in a LOT of grinding, re-welding holes, and grinding some more. If the bends would have been more accurate, it would have made a world of difference.
