I have bought Nuovo Olio olive oil from Piccolo's previously, but none was available this year. Mr. Piccolo responded personally to my request and suggested I try this and it is excellent. Strong, slightly peppery olive flavor and, as usual, the service was excellent: prompt and personalized.

One of the best olive oils in the world.

This is DOP oil from eastern Sicily and is in my opinion one of the two best olive olis in the world (the other is DOP val di Mazara from western Sicily). This is very rich, slightly peppery with a gentle fragrance like walking in farm field early in the morning. Take a slice of good bread, slightly warm bread with a very crispy crust and dip it in this oil. Fantastic. Don't cook with this or mix it into some dressing -- it's too good for that.
