Strong but loose weave
The Samson rep at the St Louis trade show told me this would be a good rope for natural crotch rigging that would last a long time with a soft feel. Unfortunately, even though it's super strong for its size, the rope has such a loose weave that it gets "picked" really easily. Then, it's impossible to milk the pulled fiber back into the original lay of the rope. I recommend it highly if you can be super careful and treat it with kid gloves, keeping it away from anything snaggy or pointy, but it's not what I'd call a rugged material. It is super easy to splice, so you can use it to make all kinds of useful gear. For that application I highly recommend it.
