Perfect fit
Even though my vacuum pump wasn't bad, it was leaking oil. I've been putting this off for years, but I finally bit the bullet, specially after I put on the P-Flo air intake and removed the stock air box. Now I have more visibility and space to work on and ease of maintenance. To keep brake boost, I tapped into the n80 line with a tee and coupled it with another fitting to reduce the 3/8 hose of the brake booster to the 5/16 hose that goes to the manifold. Brake feels exactly the same as with the vacuum pump, no noticeable difference, and that's good. Vacuum readings before the removal of the pump were -8.8 PSI in idle. Now it's -10 PSI. So no significant difference there either. I don't know if it's normal, but after removing the vacuum pump, I noticed a lot of sludge/carbon buildup in the cam where it connects to the pump. Hopefully with the next oil changes that will go away.
