7/8" Spindle Roughing Gouge

Love it.

The 7/8" roughing gouge is a good size in that it allows for removal of material without being too big and possibly getting the turner in a situation where too much material is engaged potentially creating an unsafe situation. I like that the gouge comes "ready to use" and by being able to remove it from the handle allows for more efficient sharpening techniques without a big handle giving you a "spearing" penalty. The only adjustment I've made is to wrap the handle with vet tape to provide me with a better and warmer grip. I thoroughly enjoy all the gouges I have purchased from Carter's. Highly recommend!
