Expected better from Maxim

Great engine. The rest of the unit was low quality. Plastic wing nuts looked like they were all 6 from different parts bin. One wasn’t even fully formed. Made in China quality, so you know the quality. Replaced the junk fasteners with lock nuts. Performs well so far. .

Maxim Mini - Great option for small planter beds

I got tired of flipping my 100 sq ft garden bed with a pitch fork and stiff rake. I am 63 yrs old and getting older. Problem is that my garden is 5’ x 20’ with a 2” x 8” wood frame. I assumed that any tiller would chew up the wood on the sides, front and back, but this Maxim Mini has guards on the sides and front, and the drag spike in back. It never touched the frame, but tilled right up to it. I could easily lift this lightweight into place. It starts with one pull, and pulverized everything, even cutting through some 1/2” roots. My garden has never looked so good. Yeah its a small garden, but I’m saving hours of back pain and getting much better results. I had rented a Maxim commercial tiller from my rental house for a bigger project, so I know the brand is good. It went together easily and started the first time after a few pulls. Don’t forget to pump the primer bulb until you see gasoline.

Better Than Expected

This Maxim Mini is a nice tool. Woodsplitter Direct had it on my door step in about a week. Like B V. said, I used the 4-tine setup to till up a small garden on my side yard. I started with 6-tines but it had trouble breaking ground. I tilled a 20'x6' area of grassy yard. It took a few passes but got the job done. I very pleased with my purchase.
