TL-FC16 Crankset Arm Installation Tool

Most absurd bike tool ever invented

To start with, why would Specialized make a crank that had a "cap" that needed a special $1.95 tool to remove it? And then not include it with the bike? And then this tool that does fit nicely into the crank cap, has an interface that no tool ever designed can fit around to unscrew the cap. I think it's supposed to unscrew easily just by hand, but no, not mine. It's jammed in there. Cant get pliers to open wide enough to grab the tool and then there is not enough clearance between the part you grab to twist the tool and the crank itself. I need a special tool to work the special tool needed to unscrew the cap. Am I really going to have to take my bike down to the bike shop in a raging pandemic to have them remove the stupid cap from my crank? How utterly humiliating. I am definitely way beyond cranky!!

Mike's Bikes was very efficient. I would go to their store anytime. The tool is absurd. Such a proprietary tool should not be necessary. a An 8mm Allen wrench would suffice. Shimano succeeded in alienating me on this one.
