Trail Winder UQ in the Tropics

I live in the Amazon rainforest where hammocks are a necessity and a vital part of everyday life. In the southern part of the Amazon basin it can get cold enough to make one wish for an underquilt, but in general, an extra set of clothes and a light blanket will work. However, the other issue is the mosquitoes. Permethrin is not easily available here and there are questions about daily exposure. So I have the lightest Trail Winder UQ Jared makes. It takes the chill out so I can carry less night-time clothes in my pack plus I get the added benefit of that extra layer between me and the mosquitoes...including those carrying malaria. Thank you, Jared, for this great product.

Great quilt and incredible service

I grabbed the trail winder UQ with the removable second layer of insulation. It's perfect for me. I took it out for some November camping in the PNW. It rained every night I was out and the UQ got wet from splashing and humidity but I wasn't wet in my hammock and I was warm as can be. I didn't even know the UQ was wet until I thought to check. The process of ordering and receiving the UQ was nothing short of exceptional. I would 100% recommend both the product and brand. You can't go wrong and if you manage to order something incorrectly Jared will make it right.

Love these asym quilts!

I love these so much I have two! One in 3.6 and one in 7.5. The 3.6 is super lightweight and pack down really small. Perfect for most camping I do 45-75F. The 7.5 is still very light in Argon 90, but is a little more bulky although it compresses down once in your pack. I have yet to test 7.5 low limits but based on others and comparisons with other quilts 20F should be easily doable. Attention to detail is top notch and you will not regret purchasing.
