Tasting Club — 6-Month Plan (Recurring)

Excellent for experimenting, not great for value.

I actually love that we get to taste new flavors Bean and Goose are working on. The two new bars we received so far were excellent. This subscription is great for those who like to experiment with taste, try new things and stay connected to what is being developed taste wise. It's also great as a gift. A chocolate lover would definitely appreciate the two excellent chocolate bars they receive in mail every month. But this is expensive. A 6 month subscription for 100€ means each bar comes at a hefty price of more than 8€. As much as I like Bean and Goose, 8€ per bar is expensive. In fact it's more expensive per bar than their own online shop (where same sized bars are priced at 7€). A subscription is supposed to offer value and reward loyalty. This subscription is actually punishing loyalty. Admittedly, you get to taste new bars but would I pay several Euros more for a slightly different taste every month? And finally the method of shipment is not practical. You receive it through a courier service. They do not leave packages in your mailbox but call you. It sure is a more assured method of delivery but it's not convenient for people who are not usually at home during delivery hours. Last package was letter sized. I think it can be easily delivered by Anpost. Final thoughts: Excellent as a gift Excellent for real connoisseurs of chocolate But comes at an unexpectedly high price
