Holstein Premium Bench Lord Wilton 1742 Violin

Wonderful!

I tried a number of violins and then ordered this one without a trial; based on my experience with Fiddlershop. Clare and Michael and everyone was absolutely fantastic to work with and made a video of the violin after string set up. It arrived a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it! The clarity and responsiveness are every bit as good my modern Italian made violin, and the tone is better. Very warm and sweet with an almost viola-like G string and a clear singing E; absolutely lovely! I've been playing it every day and it's already opening up a bit; I think it will get better with time. The only minor comment is that the chinrest was higher than I'm used to, but after some shoulder rest adjustments it was perfectly comfortable. :) Absolutely wonderful; and the Fiddlershop customer service is always world class!

I can't even tell you how many violins I tried when looking this past year and a half. I have played violin and fiddle since I was 9. Going on 20 years of violin! I wanted a violin that would be good for playing in an orchestra and great for fiddle. The Lord Wilton does exactly that. One of the nicest instruments I have played, especially for the price. I get compliments on it often. It has a fantastic fiddle sound and a great even tone for classical/pops type music. On top of that, Fiddlershop was more than helpful with trials and the buying process. The customer support is top notch. Thank you for making the exact violin I was looking for!!

Lord Wilton Premium Bench

I first bought a violin from Fiddlershop 8 years ago, & I decided to step up a few weeks ago. After getting it on a home trial, I decided on the Lord Wilton Premium Bench. It is a beautiful instrument with a wonderful tone. The violin was set up well, and packed securely. Customer service was outstanding, as always. I am very pleased with this purchase—I feel fortunate to own this violin.
