Custom Order Doctoral Hood

I ordered a doctoral hood in light blue (education). It is a well crafted and beautiful garment. The light blue has a more grey undertone than I expected and does not quite match the robe that I was gifted. I am just thankful to have finished and less concerned about perfect color matching 😀 Do order a robe/hood set if you are able. I needed to save a few dollars.

Ordering from Cap and Gown was a great decision. at half the price, I got a great gown that fits perfectly! Customer service was awesome and responsive. Shipping was lightening fast! Everything is perfect.

Decent price, but be careful before ordering

I ordered a doctoral gown and hood. The fabric is heavy and nice and the gown looks good when you open it. The length was right on as you can order for your height. However, there is no button inside the zipper to hook the hood to. I asked about this and was told the button was in the back, so there is no way to keep the hood down or from resting on your throat. If you do not have the ability to sew in your own button, this is not the place to order a doctoral gown. The hood is made of quality material. That is the best thing I can say about the hood. The hood had a cord to hook to a button in the front, but again, there wasn't a button in the front of the gown to hook it to (I am not sure what they think that cord in the front of the hood is for). I contacted the company and they said hoods are meant to hook in the back and do not hook in the front. I have no idea what they are thinking. All doctoral hoods hook in the front under the zipper of the gown. The hood is tiny, which is why I marked runs small. It looks like it belongs on a child. I would recommend paying the extra and ordering the longer one if you choose to order from this company. I assumed "standard" was for an average-sized adult, but I was wrong. The hood looks ridiculous with the gown. The lining color also shows through on the velvet color in the front. This is not supposed to be the case, you are supposed to see the velvet color only in the front and the lining in the back. I was very disappointed with the hood.
