I came across this product when I bought a townhouse that didn't currently have a dryer vent installed. Stuck in a waiting game on getting approval from my HOA to get one installed through the roof, I bought this and some dryer duct to use in the meantime so I could have a means to vent the dryer outside, as I gathered from all the research I did that venting inside is not a good solution. I'm thinking now I will just stick with this as a permanent solution and not even bother getting one drilled through the roof! It works great, and couldn't be easier to unbox, put together, and install in the window. I put some weather stripping along the top part that meets the window and that helped with a small draft that was coming in, and you can insulate it too if you want some heavy duty weatherproofing. Additionally, this is much easier to clean than if you have ductwork going into the wall/roof that is hard to access. I took my duct off the vent after just a few dryer cycles and was shocked at how much lint was already trapped in the screen. Great product. . . highly recommend!
