How I installed it
I'm not an electrician but this is how I did it. Turn the drill upside down and unscrew the 4 screws on the black bottom panel of the drill (as shown in the first installation picture on this webpage). Remove the black panel. You will then see what is shown in the second installation picture on this page. The brush is the thing with a pink cable in the upper centre of the second picture. Your new brushes should look like this. The brush slots into the grey metal slot shown in the picture and the other end of the brush cable is connected immediately to the left of the metal slot. To remove the old brush from the grey slot, you first have to gently lift the metal coil spring which holds the brush down (I used a small screwdriver). When the end of the coiled spring is clear of the metal slot, you can pull the old brush out. The other end of the brush cable has a small metal connection plate (as shown in other photos on this webpage). To disconnect the old one, you have to lift the metal connection plate upwards off its housing (there are no screws to undo here). I did this by gently applying upwards pressure to the bottom of the metal connection plate, first one side and then the other. I didn't try to pull it up by the wire, as it felt that the wire would break. Once you have removed the old brush, you install the new one by following the same process in reverse order. You then turn the drill over and do the same thing for the second brush.
