Chikuhodo Z-1 Powder Brush, Z Series

More dense than I was looking for

I waited over 2 months to receive this brush, as it was in an order that included the pre-ordered, limited Koyudo Original Fupa-02 Brush REVIVAL (wood). I hate to say that I regret purchasing this brush, but I don't love it. The bristles are soft, but because they are so tightly packed, they tend to remove most of the powder I apply sparingly, rather than whisking away the particles that cling to facial hairs. I imagine the bristles will fluff out the more I wash it (recommended no more than once every 3 months), but if the head remains dense, I may relegate the Z-1 to pressed powder or bronzer. For loose powder application and finishing, I prefer the soft and airy Chikuhodo FO-1. I also love the Tanseido AQ20 cheek brush, which is large enough to use for targeted loose powder placement and feels like kitten eyelashes on my face.

Outstanding brush

The squirrel hair is so soft, but this brush construct gives it a dense feel. The feedback is good during application, its firm during powder application, giving it a great smooth finishing. I'm tempted to see what is the difference between this and Z1.

A delight

This kind of brisle is already exquisite, the brush is a beauty and every make-up lover should have this brush.
