There is a reason that John G. Alden's "Malabar" line of sailboats is a touchstone of American yacht design. From the salty Malabar I, to the perfect Malabar IV, to the iconic and photogenic Malabar X, the entire line of sailboats is an example of the best in yacht design. However, for those preferring a schooner that can be sailed and maintained by a sailing couple or competent individual, it is hard to beat Malabar II.
