Venice Canal

New project for me and I enjoyed learning!

Almost finished! First time for me. Very small areas and similar dark colors next to one another, but it’s really nice. I should have looked at the website pictures as I was painting. At times I didn’t see what I was painting until I finished area. I noticed the person in the gondola way after I did it! Nice surprise.

Venice Canal was the first off the shelf PBN following ngca series of five custom portraits. While this was more detailed and therefore challenging than some may be comfortable with, it is very satisfying, particularly the deep colorization and the play of light and shadow along the canal itself. Take your time and have a supply of spotter brush’s and you’ll do great!

First Time Paint By Numbers Artist

I am 67 years old and this is my first paint by numbers experience. It's Amazing! I chose the "Venice Canal" scene from Masterpiece By Numbers because I will be visiting Venice in February 2026 with my family. I really enjoy working on the painting! The satisfaction of seeing the artwork come together is very rewarding. Sure it's intricate and time consuming, but hey the end product will be awesome. I hope to finish the masterpiece by Halloween, then have it framed and hanged in a prominent place in my home so I may admire. The overall quality of the kit is good. However, the small brush I use most often is wearing thin, so I hope it makes it to the end.
