Saved a shower pan removal

Whoever installed the shower stall in the home we recently bought did at best a amateurish job and ran 1.5in ID pipe to the drain and filled the void between the 2 in drain fitting and the 1.5 in pipe with plumbers putty. This was obviously leaking. This adaptor and the wingtite drain fitting saved a complete tear out to repair
