UbiBot WS1 Pro: Good product, works well
The monitor was bought for our greenhouse and works well. It's good for us, but there are a few things you might need to think about in deciding whether it's right for you. It's good to have a display on the device itself and not to have to rely on the mobile app to see what the temperature is. I have now three digital thermometers and they all disagree slightly about the temperature. I've no way to tell if this is a calibration issue or just that even close together on the shelf they might all be experiencing different conditions. One issue is that the UbiBot heats up rapidly when the sun falls on it. Of course the greenhouse heats up quickly, too, but not so quickly. I guess I need to find a way of shielding it from direct sunshine. I'm not sure what that would mean for the light readings. These are for interest only in my case, but your needs may be different. The UbiBot WS1 Pro can support an external sensor which might solve the temperature issue, but that's an extra cost. It doesn't have the option of adding an external wifi antenna so unless you can place it near enough your router you may need to install a wifi repeater near where you plan to use the UbiBot. Our greenhouse is only a few yards from the house and the signal is just about strong enough. If you want it down the garden it probably won't keep in contact. The app is excellent. It's simple to set up and to create alarms for low or high temperatures. I haven't yet tried making the alarms trigger further actions, such as turning on a heater if the greenhouse gets cold, but that seems straightforward if you get the right equipment. I'm running it from an external battery with four rechargeable AA cells for internal backup. This was a bit jittery at first but has now settled down and there seems to be not problem. Annoyingly, just after I'd bought the WS1 Pro UbiBot brought out the WS4 which is both waterproof (the WS1 isn't) and has an internal battery of it's own. It is also slightly cheaper. Three weeks later and I'd probably have bought that instead.

This is a very good product. I used this Ubibot WS1 Pro 2. 4 GHz wifi enabled. Think of this product as a small weather station. Just by placing this weather station in your green house, (and adding it to your wifi) you will get up to date information on temperature, light, humidity, and much more. I would caution someone that previous to your setup, I would ensure you have actively set up a 2. 4 GHz wifi bank on your router. That way you will easily hook this instrument up to your wifi. And I really love the FREE Control Panel that lets me monitor my WS 1.
