Its an ok little button box, i like it. i wouldn’t recommend buying this box Considering the price. Yes it works and no there are no defects. There’s a ton of reasons why building your own is better but my main points would be. 1.how much cheaper it is to make your own.
2.full customization
3.its a lot easier than you think and you’ll likely produce a box of the same quality as this $148 box.
I know nothing about coding, electronics etc and i built one recently with many more buttons & features than the apex box and for about 100 cheaper.
If the price were to come down on these id def recommend them because they do as advertised but they are way too expensive for what you get. A few buttons, not even the good ones, the rotarys feel dull as well. This is like a $40 item in reality.

It's grate only thing is one of the bolts on the back for the mount was and is loose so I fixed it but that's about it . . every thing else was grate
