Melinex snare resonant Head

It’s not what I expected

I bought a sixteen inch Swiss resonant head for my personal drum a couple years ago and it was exactly what i wanted, however i purchased your $90 17inch melinex head for a drum I’m building for someone, and it seemed completely different the the thin Swiss head I purchased before. It doesn’t give me close to the snap that I’m looking for, and at first i thought it was a mistake because the 17 inch “melinex” head i received seemed exactly like the $70 option I had bought a month prior for another drum. I’m not certain, but the 17 inch head i received seemed much thicker then the 16 inch Swiss resonant head I purchased from you a year ago, so it gives out a metallic sound rather then the snappy sound I’m looking for (even after i paired it with a Kevlar head and pressed it). Is there anything you can suggest for how i could check to be sure it’s the correct head? And if it is, do you have any suggestions on how I could go about muffling it in order to get rid of the ringing sound(i confirmed the Kevlar batter head is properly muffled, it’s definitely the resonant head)?
