The bow was well balanced but the varnish was not completely smooth and the adjuster was cheaply made and did not fit well. The bow felt like a beginner bow. For the price, the hybrid cello bow is a much better buy ....I have one of those and I love it.

Great bow, but false advertising...

This bow is a huge upgrade from the carbon fiber bow that came with my instrument rental, there is no denying that. It is well-balanced and significantly lighter than any other bow I've handled in this price range. Now this may sound nitpick-y, but one thing I was really looking forward to in upgrading from my generic bow was no longer having a black thumb from the cheap rubber thumb wrap. Seriously, I work in healthcare and it's been a time having to reassure my patients that my hands are actually clean. So I was looking forward to the "lizard skin" wrap on this bow that would hopefully reduce / eliminate the issue. To my disappointment, the thumb wrap on the bow I received is not lizard skin, it's a cheap, rubbery wrap with a crosshatch pattern impressed into it, which is easily rubbed off. It actually stains my thumb even worse than my generic bow. I don't think I would mind that much, and would in fact have given this bow five stars, if it were correctly advertised. It is a great bow, to be sure. I just can't abide the false advertising.
