An excellent commentary on the Gospel of Luke

This is one of my favorite commentaries on the Gospel of Luke. I really like how it is organized. Each passage in Luke is treated in 3 sections: Original Meaning, Bridging Contexts, and Contemporary Significance. Darrell Bock, an outstanding New Testament scholar, explains clearly what each passage means in its historical, literary, and cultural context. This has been so helpful in my weekly Bible study preparation for my cell group. Darrell Bock also provides good practical insights for how the reader can apply what he or she has learned from the Bible passage in our modern day setting. I highly recommend this commentary for Bible study leaders and members.
