Good quality, wrong size.
It is a well made, though simple jacket. This fits with its purpose as a jacket for poor(er) working class men from long-long ago.
I feel it is worth the price. It is a bit expensive, but that is what you can expect when buying something that is made of wool instead of plastic, has metal buttons instead of plastic and is made in a Western country instead of in some far-Eastern slave emporium.
Having said that, the sizing is off for me. I measure 38" in the chest, so that is the size I bought (small).
It fits perfectly in the chest and stomach, but it is a little tight on the shoulders and most importantly; the sleeves are about an inch too short (most of my wrist is exposed).
It would have been nice if the sleeve length was also listed on the website. I would have ordered a size medium instead.
I'm not going to return it since I live across the pond (and I can't be bothered with the shipping charges/import duties involved with an exchange). Maybe I'll order another one in a larger size next year.
One neat thing I must mention is that Townsends included a paper catalogue in the package. Not many shops have those anymore. Very cool!
