Rear Upper Shock Mounts for Jeep Wrangler YJ (1987-95)

I bought these to help complete a Ford 8.8 rear end in my jeep JY and they’re doing exactly what I need them to. You do have to cut part of the fuel filter skid plate per the instructions but that’s fast and easy enough, plus the filter stays well protected even with a portion of the plate gone. DO NOTE this kit will cause your shocks to be a a more parallel angle relative to the ground compared to the stock setup - THIS WILL EFFECTIVELY LOWER THE SHOCK RATE. I’m running Bilstein 4600 series shocks which are pretty stiff and they’re working fine, just keep in mind if you’re running stock shocks you’ll probably want to install something stiffer. Installation took about two hours and I burned through several cheap drill bits, if you don’t have a lift and/or a magnetic drill press you will be cursing the sun like I was. Overall it’s an excellent product that is very well made and substantially over-engineered, if you’re doing a Ford 8.8 swap on a YJ with stock ride height this item is a must.

Excellent quality

As stated, excellent quality. The only issue is with the directions. I would like to see better detail on placement as it pertains to drilling the 1/2 pilot hole. A photo, and carefully mark directions leaves questions, or at least for me. You end up trying to eye the angle of the bracket, on a curved frame.

I’ve got your shackle reversal and upper shock hoops on the front as well. Love your stuff very high quality!!!!
