I might need to come by and talk about calibration. The instructions refer to getting to zero but not able to do that. I am sure it is operator error! Well built, nice neat case to keep it safe! Looking forward to using it

It never worked properly. It was unable to give a good reading and appeared broken inside...

Would like instructions to calibrate that is clear. If I didn't have another refractometer for another purpose I would still be trying to figure out the calibration procedure. Just luck that I saw the little bottle and tried it and it seemed to be what I needed to calibrate. It is a fine instrument but the instructions not so much. Instructions say to use purified water to calibrate and that is nowhere near the range that it checks.
