Basic Leotard 14.5" Doll Clothes Pattern

Very Simple to Sew

I bought this pattern to make a simple black leotard as part of a cat costume for my kids' dolls. Knits aren't my favorite, so I was worried it'd be a huge hassle, but it ended up being very, very simple. I used old black leggings and the stretch ended up being perfect. I didn't realize there wasn't a velcro closure until I'd bought the pattern, but it pulls on very easily and I think it might actually be easier for my kids to dress the doll than velcro. I didn't try any of the appliques for it but they instructions seem clear and simple to add that if I decide to do a gymnastics leotard later.

This pattern was excellent. Really easy to follow instructions and a great fit. My grandaughter wanted a swimming costume for her Wellie Wisher doll - I used this pattern and an old swimming costume of hers to complete the project. I added the "lightning" applique to it and it looks very professional. My next attempt will be the leotard with the sleeves in!
