So far so good,

Over all I’m pretty pleased with the system. One major thing I would change, and I may change myself on mine. I would like to see a better way to mount the lid, I have had to remove my several times and I am really beginning to chew up the sides with multiple screw holes as I can never seem to fit it just right and line up all the screw holes. I’m thinking about adding some sort of a threaded bushing like into the main part and then using small bolts so has to be able to line it up exactly every time. My other thought would be some sort of a snap hook that can be secured so as to prevent curious cows from unsnapping, but that would allo for even quicker access.

Last year in North Texas it got down below zero and stayed in that range for several days. With no heater it never froze up. I did have to clear a little ice but never had to haul water. It also doesn’t grow algae. It’s just a fantastic system.
