A very nice wardrobe at a very good price - but be careful when assembling

Overall this was a very nice wardrobe at a very good price. The finish was excellent and the design and appearance are very pleasing. It comes in three packages with substantial foam and cardboard inside keeping everything safe - it's the best packaging I've seen for flat-packed furniture in a long while. I did have a few little problems when assembling the unit. The studs which you screw into the flat panels and then use to draw together two surfaces using the cams - well, sometimes the composite wood (i.e. chipboard) that the stud screws into was less-than-solid which meant that when you rotated the cam to tighten the joint, the studs would start to pull out of the wood rather than 'bite' and hold firm. When the whole unit is together the shelves and pieces won't come apart, but there are some gaps where the two pieces haven't pulled together tightly. You also need to be careful when adding the top panel, as if the whole unit is off-square (which it can be if the pieces don't pull together tightly, then the top panel won't fit into place easily and a bit of manipulation is required to achieve a satisfactory fit. I have a lot of experience of putting together this kind of furniture and I do wonder how a less experienced person would actually manage it. I still think overall that it is an excellent wardrobe, and I do recommend it as it is excellent value.
