Very easy to insert but not as tight as a straight cork

These tapered corks are much easier to insert, needing less pressure and effort. However I have found that when winding a corkscrew in to uncork a bottle, there is a tendency for the cork to spin around making it difficult/ impossible to screw down far enough to pull the cork out.
