Ka’bah 1447 felt cool, woody, luminous, and majestic. The frankincense gives it an elevated quality, almost as if the air has become clearer and more vertical. I experienced it as golden, sacred, and contemplative. It does not announce itself loudly. It rises. There is a solemn stillness in it, a sense of distance from ordinary time, as if the fragrance gently pulls the soul upward.
