wire lid clasped different from the classic style doesn’t feel as tight

I’m really curious why you have the wire lid clasped different from the classic style? It doesn’t feel as tight, and I’m not able to lay the jars sideways packing for a trip. I’ve really been searching for specialty jars to sell with products. Can’t lay it down so can’t use for shipping! I’ve even been trying to make another seal to avoid the plastic/rubber. . .
