Not for airplanes?

I love the product, but no where in the literature does it mention not for airplanes. It is on the tag of the item. And there were no instructions included on how to use the shoulder belt, or an explanation of why it is not for airplanes. Will it burst in the air? Do they not allow it? Is it not safe? Who knows? It will go on our trip for the rental car, and I will find a pillow to insert for the airplane trip. Hopefully that will work.
