Elsa Cropped Blouse

I’m anywhere between an XL-3XL in tops but due to the pin tucks present in this one, I disregarded the bust measurement I thought I’d be safe with (my measurements falling under the XXL) and went up to the 3XL. I’m so glad I did. It fit beautifully, just as intended. In the past I’ve made mistakes with styles like this (e.g. Nadia Blouse), believing if I fall under the bust measurements it will fit. Unfortunately they don’t always reflect how a garment sits with pin tucks or lace detailing — the fabric tends to lose its 3D depth, making measurements somewhat unreliable. Rigid stitching and details can absorb ease of wear and distort a relaxed drape so understanding this seems crucial when choosing a size. I absolutely wouldn’t size down in this and recommend going up a size, especially for larger busts. The Elsa is beautiful, flowy and light. It is a little see-through so bra choice is something to consider when desiring more modesty. I love it though. I didn’t find it to be too cropped, especially because I wear most things higher waisted. It’s really very pretty and easily paired. Ideal for warm weather.

I sized up one size because it is cropped & I am so happy with the fit! I am normally a large in Spell tops/dresses with my 100cm bust. I ordered an extra large for more length. This blouse is nice and light & the shorter sleeves are a nice change. I will be wearing this a lot this summer (I am in Canada 🇨🇦) It is going to be a great layering piece come the Fall & Spring too. I do not find it too transparent at all - it has plenty of volume in the material, so it is not an issue. 😉
