Fantastic template for Adapting to Zombie Boy
My ten year old son wanted to be ZoZo Zombie (aka Zombie Boy) for Halloween. When we found this template for a jack-a-lantern head we knew it’d work perfectly for his design. I thought the price was fair and the designs on here are amazing! I made a couple mistakes. I used a very thin but string recycled cardboard that I didn’t think was corrugated but actually was. I was able to glue some of the tabs together but some of the smaller, trickier tabs/folds just wouldn’t stay glued. I was limited on time so I ended up using a combo of tape and glue to hold the rest of the tabs together. I wanted a non toxic way to plant it and first tried watercolor, but wasn’t happy with the result. I found a jumbo, non-toxic, purple, poster board marker and that worked very nicely. Then my son and I used scrapbooking paper to cut out the rest or the features. I could not figure out how to used the attached headband so we went without and it was fine. We were both so pleased with the outcome and would like to make more next year. I’ve learned from my first time mistakes. I am curious what kind of cardboard the design creator uses. It seems like it is pre-colored cardboard and I’d love to know the specs for next time.

A fine pumpkin head.
This was a fun build. Definitely easier than the t rex. I added a string of internal blue LEDs which made it extra fun, and painted in various details. Thanks for the pattern!
