The BDH Active Shifter completes my rig in a way I did not realize was missing. Interacting with a transmission feels fantastic, especially when it rejects or kicks out a sloppy shift like a real one would.
I've tried several H-pattern options. The OG Logitech was first; 3DRAP magnet mod made it 10x better, but missed gears were common. The Frex was a major step up and excellent. The AB9 has a realistic feel, lockouts sucked, it missed shifts, and works better as a flight-stick base. BDH sits above them all in a class of its own.
The quick selectable lockouts, resistance, and kickbacks make static shifting feel incomplete. BDH explains that its shifters wear in over time, much like transmissions in a new car. Since my H1SQ has a year of use, the new Active initially felt alien, but it is already smoothing out.
The BDH crew has been excellent, with an extra shout-out to Dave. You cannot go wrong with BDH. If you are serious about your shifting, nothing compares.
Customer for life.
