I bought my second wool pressing mat because I wanted to set up a portable pressing station. I used a TV table, batting, some canvas, and a staple gun to put the table together. The wool mat that I purchased fits perfectly on top and doesn’t slide at all. I like the wool pressing mat because it helps to really flatten seams.

Don’t be greedy

I was greedy and I got this big boy - I regret it right away. You need to use this with an ironing board, or somewhere the steam/heat can go through without warping whatever is on the other side (you can’t use a cutting mat or a flat surface like a countertop). My ironing board is a standard size and I anticipate the wool will deform as it is wider than my board, the end flops over and droops. I am trying to rotate it to prevent this, but plan to sell it soon. It works almost exactly as I imagined, but I'm grossed out by the wet wooly smell every time I use steam, which is most times. Great product, but not the right size! Think about where you would use it before you go for it.
