Great pencils and colouring books

I have ordered two of the colouring books and, as I could not resist, the blending brush pen set, pastels and skin colour ones. They are amazing 🤩 As I do not have a free hand drawing talent these books are great and it is a lot of fun to mix and blend the different colours. And they do help a lot during a boring work meeting 🙈 As an idea for another book: Different Happy Birthday cards for kids, adults, etc. which can be separated from the book and used as giftcards…

Great for slow and mindful coloring

I'm not able to use my right hand and was seeking something I could use with my left hand that would be both forgiving and work well with going slowly. In that respect these pens have been absolutely perfect, it's so satisfying to be able to create something that actually looks reasonable with my non-dominant hand and they blend so well. They are expensive but I do think the quality is clear. Also, although they are pastels you can layer really well and bring up strong colors. Four stars instead of five because of a few small areas of potential improvement that I think would be appropriate given the price, firstly that some of the colours are very similar to each other, in particular a couple of the pinks are pretty much exactly the same, it would be helpful to have the colour names on the pens. Secondly, the lids are a bit of a faf to remove. With only my left hand I need to bite them off each time! These both feel like small things that would make the whole experience just that little bit more five star.

I have always loved the thought of colouring and know the benefits for mental health and mindfulness, but I have always found the reality really frustrating … until now! I have tried loads of different pens after watching inspo videos online and have been left disappointed, and assumed that colouring is just a skill I don’t have. BUT calm over chaos pens (I got the pastel set) help me colour like a pro! They blend, they are buildable for shading, not too wet, not too dry, and the brush allows for fast coverage of large areas while the tip allows for precision colouring in the tightest of spaces. The box they arrived in is essentially a free gift and it became my first project with my new pens- such a great idea and a fun way to prevent waste. They say a bad workman blames his tools but a master craftsman recognises quality tools that are fit for purpose. For the first time in my 48 years of ADHD life, I was able to sit calmly and get lost in an almost meditative state for well in excess of an hour 😮 I will be collecting more colours!
